Climatology The Climatology concentration in Geographical Biogeosciences (GEOB) concentrates on all scales of research - from the micro-scale of the urban street canyon, to synoptic-scale air pollution meteorology. As a Climatology student, you may find yourself on this website for courses such as Microscale Weather and Climate (GEOB 300), Synoptic Meteorology and Climatology (GEOB 304), or Air Pollution Meteorology (GEOB 402), among others. As a Climatology student, you may also be familiar with the fact that trips to the field are not of the typical sight-seeing variety. They often involve meticulously setting up an instrument, and then simply… waiting. In meteorology, it’s often the data that you collect from the field that’s most interesting. But, you need to know what it all means, or where to find it! Here, we present to you some learning modules that may help you interpret various types of field data that you may encounter in class, or in your own research projects. The Climatology portion of this website has the following major components. Click on the images to the left or use the navigation sidebar at the top-right! The Lidar How-To Guide
